Silicon carbide (C, GC)
Silicon carbide is quartz, petroleum coke based materials, wood flour, salt for the materials by a certain percentage after mixing into the resistance furnace, made by high temperature smelting artificial abrasives.
Black and green silicon carbide of two kinds: black is black or blue-black silicon carbide, green silicon carbide green or blue-green. In the manufacturing process, the production of green silicon carbide is characterized in that a more pure materials, charge added salt, which can promote the product is green. Green silicon carbide purity than black silicon carbide.
SiC does not react with any acid, but the basic silicon oxide can promote the decomposition of the melt.
Black silicon carbide abrasive and compared to artificial corundum, hardness, brittleness, suitable for processing of lower tensile strength of the metal and non-metallic materials, such as gray cast iron, brass, lead, metals, and ceramics, glass, stone and other hard brittle materials.
Green silicon carbide and black silicon carbide compared to its purity, hardness, brittleness higher, suitable for processing hard and brittle material, such as cemented carbide, glass, agate, but also widely used in measuring, cutting, grinding mold and aircraft, automobiles, ships and so on.
